MLP Spike Cosplay by M-Hydra MLP Spike Cosplay by M-Hydra
So I often make new designs for costume parts and accessories. I find the problem solving part in the cosplay design process keeps my mind in a good shape and lets me experiment with new ways to approach the craft.

After doing Vaporeon Gijinka, I wondered the possiblity of making ear covers that are not attached to wire headbands so it can match with the ears better.

Following research and consideration, I decided on a hook/loop style ear cover (inspired by the hook/loop earphones).

This is version #1, but I hope with every new project, i will find a way to perfect this.

The first subject for this new ear cover? MLP:FiM's Spike~!!!

I had a friend of mine model this for me.

What do you think?

I'm not much for tutorials per se, but I do share my development journal.

For the MLP Spike ear-cover and head spike, I have this album on my FB page ([link])

Basically, after the metal headband was removed, I inserted some steel wires and made some loop-end prongs to act as stablizer, then I sewed it onto the wig, making sure to carefully blend it in as I style the wig so the head spike looked like it was growing out of the head naturally.
